ALL TEAM SELECTIONS,TRYOUTS, PRACTICES, & TOURNEYS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

We continue to monitor the developments as well as Federal and State guidance related to the COVID-19 public health emergency.  We will be forced to make major changes to our program this spring to ensure the health and safety of our players, coaches and families.

Our current ‘hopeful’ plan is to finish our tryouts the week of April 13, if Federal and State restrictions on public gatherings are reduced.  If that does not happen, then our tryouts would be completed the week of April 20th.

Our plan is to run a 5-week skill development program beginning the week of April 27th and ending on or before Thursday May 28th.  We will limit the number of players on the ice at any one time to no more than 22 plus coaches – if the Federal and State guidelines are reduced!  There will not be any tournaments this year as most have been canceled or rescheduled to dates that won’t work for most of our families.  The lack of tournaments will allow us to dramatically reduce fees and reduce your household expenses because there won’t be any travel expenses.  Despite the reduced fees, our intention is to maintain high quality with our development program.  We will push the kids to be the best they can be.

Youth Tryouts

Tryouts for all teams will be 2, one hour on-ice sessions. Format will be a mix of skating, puck skill drills, competition, small area games, and full ice scrimmage.

Team Coaches will grade all players with 5-10 additional evaluators and average out scores to determine who makes the team. Evaluators will do their best to watch all players and rank based on tryout performance and  understanding players' puck skills, skating ability, attitude, work ethic, potential, and greater understanding of the game.

Players that are chosen for the Jr Jet's Team will be Called within 48 hours after last tryout and invited to join the team.

Final Roster will be posted on the team page under roster tab a few days later.

Typical roster will include 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies. Some teams may offer a couple players Alternate Spots to participate in practices only.

Unfortunately, not all players trying out will be offered a spot this spring as these can be highly competitive teams to make.

Jr Jets are combining efforts with the Jr Tradesmen Spring training teams, any player not making a Jets team will be encouraged to play for them, as they will be alternates for Jets.

The decisions to pick a team each year is a very very difficult process for our evaluators and coaching staffs. One of the hardest things to do in sports, is to tell a player he/she didn't make a team.

Please keep a positive yet realistic outlook while instilling confidence in your child, knowing that kid’s development at different times and it’s just a game!

We wish everyone the best of luck training this off season and hope you find an avenue to reach you hockey goals.

Thanks again for trying out!
