NAPHL announces new Fall League for 2020-21 season

JUNE 11, 2020

DALLAS, TEXAS – The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has the formation of a new Fall League for the 2020-21 season, which will be the 12th season of the NAPHL.

This newly created NAPHL Fall League is designed to give U18 and U16 teams the ability to play in a league within a shortened window of time before the Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin high school seasons begin.

There will be three events, which will all take place before the high school seasons begin. The first event will take place from September 4-6 in Duluth, Minnesota, in cooperation with the NAHL’s Minnesota Wilderness. The second event will take place from September 17-20 in Blaine, Minnesota, in cooperation with the NAHL Showcase. The third and final event will take place from October 16-19 in Blaine, Minnesota, and will be the Fall League Playoff Championship.

Each team playing in the NAPHL Fall League will be named after an NAHL team and be represented as such. The NAPHL Fall League events are designed to maximize exposure for the players and bring together teams for likeminded and enhanced competition. Players will also participate in seminars that discuss the NAHL junior hockey experience, the ladder of development, as well as, NCAA compliance seminars.

NAHL teams that are taking part in the Fall League with youth teams are: Austin Bruins, Chippewa Steel, Janesville Jets, Kenai River Brown Bears, Minnesota Magicians, and Minnesota Wilderness.

No other USA Hockey youth league does more for its players than the NAPHL. Operated by the full-time staff of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), who make it their mission to outperform others both on and off the ice in promoting its players. NAPHL players are recognized on the league’s website and social media outlets, which receive millions of pageviews and social media engagements annually. This also includes broadcasts and play-by-play of every game on HockeyTV, highlights from every game on social media, monthly and yearly award recognition, feature stories, and real-time statistics.

Members of the NAPHL get the opportunity to attend some of the most dynamic and highly scouted events.  Every member is guaranteed the opportunity to compete at the NAHL Showcase, which features every NCAA Division 1 and every NHL team along with dozens of junior scouts under one roof.  No matter what age classification you compete, the NAPHL provides the most dynamic vertical exposure structure designed specifically to educate, develop, expose and advance players in the NAPHL.

SPRING 2020 SEASON IS CANCELED

We have to cancel the entire Jr Jets Program for the Spring and Summer, this is very unfortunate for all involved, but ultimately the best decision.

Refunds for tryout fees will issued for all registered players in which tryouts did not take place.

Stay positive that we can all come out of this strong, & keep training at home!

2020 SPRING TEAM TRYOUT FORMAT/INFO:

Tryout Registration required. Payments made online
Tryouts are March 9-March 19th
Cost is $40

Youth Tryouts

Tryouts for all teams will be 2, one hour on-ice sessions. Format will be a mix of skating, puck skill drills, competition, small area games, and full ice scrimmage.

Team Coaches will grade all players with 5-10 additional evaluators and average out scores to determine who makes the team. Evaluators will do their best to watch all players and rank based on tryout performance and  understanding players' puck skills, skating ability, attitude, work ethic, potential, and greater understanding of the game.

Players that are chosen for the Jr Jet's Team will be Called within 48 hours after last tryout and invited to join the team.

Final Roster will be posted on the team page under roster tab a few days later.

Typical roster will include 15 Skaters, 2 Goalies. Some teams may offer a couple players Alternate Spots to participate in practices only.

Unfortunately, not all players trying out will be offered a spot this spring as these can be highly competitive teams to make.

Jr Jets are combining efforts with the Jr Tradesmen Spring training teams, any player not making a Jets team will be encouraged to play for them, as they will be alternates for Jets.

The decisions to pick a team each year is a very very difficult process for our evaluators and coaching staffs. One of the hardest things to do in sports, is to tell a player he/she didn't make a team.

Please keep a positive yet realistic outlook while instilling confidence in your child, knowing that kid’s development at different times and it’s just a game!

We wish everyone the best of luck training this off season and hope you find an avenue to reach you hockey goals.

Thanks again for trying out!
