About the Jets Development
program:
The
Madison Stars AAA player development program was founded in
2004 by Bill McCoshen and Dan Schachte.
McCoshen is now the managing partner and President of the NAHL
Janesville Jets.
Effective during the 2010 spring
season, the
Madison Stars
changed their name to the
Wisconsin Junior Jets which will create the first fully
integrated player development program in Wisconsin from Mites
through Junior A.
Three former Madison Stars players; Cody
Strang, Matt Paape and Mitch Thompson have all signed with
the Wisconsin Badgers in the past year. Many others are
current and former standouts on Team Wisconsin High School
Select Teams.
The goal of the Junior
Jets program is to give high quality players from the area an
opportunity to further develop their hockey skills through
specific training methods both on and off the ice. We give
players the knowledge they need to continue to improve if they
are willing to put forth the effort. Our objective is to make
good hockey players better! In addition, the Wisconsin Junior
Jets will teach young athletes character development,
leadership skills, and sportsmanship on and off the ice.
This
program is for serious players only. This program is not
recreational hockey.

ATTENTION 1997 BOYS:
All '97 Boys interested in playing Jr
Jets this spring should tryout for the U16 Team (consisting
of 96-97 birth years). After that tryout session; the Jr
Jets staff will determine if there is enough quality 1997
players to have a '97 birth year only team. If so, an
additional '97 Team tryout will be held (date/time tbd). No
addtional fee for those whom attended the U16 tryout.
Additional players will be able to register/tryout for
potential '97 team. More details will be posted after March
27th. Hope this explains it!
The
program gathers some of the most skilled coaches in the
Madison area to develop its players. The highly talented staff brings
endless knowledge to the program from the hockey world’s most
advanced stages; including NCAA Championship teams
and NHL Veterans. Other coaches & consultants include;
John Parker, Rick
Dorman, Joel Marshall, Ken Keryluk, Dean Gille, Brian Jensen,
Larry Clemens, Josh Biser, Rob Andringa, Bill Schmitt, Gary Shuchuk, Dave Kepler, & many more.
